Our focus is on providing you with a long lasting, resilient, high density, top quality rug in consideration of the full lifecycle impact of production and use, with environmental stewardship, health, and welfare being key drivers.
The predominance of New Zealand and Turkish wool in the rug construction not only eliminates harmful off-gassing associated with many man-made yarns and materials, but also helps these rugs to function as natural air filters, with hypoallergenic properties. A lesser proportion of natural, plant-derived viscose is also blended in with the wool helping to soften the feel, sharpen patterns, and increase durability, whilst avoiding the negative consequences of lower cost polyester and/or nylon based materials. Furthermore, non-toxic, natural dyes have been used in the place of high VOC chemical-heavy processing.
At about 100mm thick, and weighing nearly 3kg, the rug has sufficient mass to comfortably use on hard surfaces such as timber, tile, stone, or concrete flooring without the need for any underlay.
With a neutral colour pallet and a modern repeating cubist pattern, drawing inspiration from the Kaabah form, our HIDIAYAH rug was designed to compliment any space, with a simple, minimalist, non-distracting design. One end of the rug is differentiated by means of a simple repeating pattern in one of the cube motifs, to help facilitate consistent orientation during prayer.
